Pocatello sophomore Elijah Armstrong and junior Haydin Herndon before the start of the Idaho High School Cross Country State 4A Championships on October 27, 2012 at Hells Gate State Park in Lewiston, Idaho.

Armstrong posted the fastest boy's time of the meet, 15:34.10, to claim his second state cross country title. He was followed by Sandpoint junior Sam Levora (15:49.20), Preston senior Ryan Crowther (16:05.30), and Pocatello juniors Haydin Herndon (16:06.40) and Driztin Herndon (16:10.90).
