The Bird family discusses their work-in-progress mural during Freak Alley Gallery's eight annual mural event in downtown Boise, Idaho on August 4, 2018.
The Bird family members are all artist and all were involved in the mural. Brecken was the lead artist and was assisted by sister, Courtney, and father, Zac, with support from her other three sisters, husband, and Mom.
Their mural is very symbolic and a battle is happening. The girl in the middle represents a person with an inner conflict; the lion strength and power; the unicorn innocence, purity, and goodness; and the snake is representative of troubles and trials.
Zac was very proud of them. He was just glad to be here to back them up. They know what their doing, they are the creative ones. He just let them go, just let them paint. They do a good job.
Freak Alley Gallery's week long event provided an "art-in-motion" experience as it welcomed the public to watch artists work on their murals.
