The Cottonwoods steel structures located in the Boise City Hall Plaza reflect off the window of City Hall. Boise, Idaho, April 19, 2020.
Dwaine Carver and Zachary Hill are the artists of the Cottonwoods, which represent the iconic trees that line the Boise River. The Cottonwoods is a public artwork of seven, 24-foot tall weathering steel sculptures. 5/8” steel plate is precisely cut with lace-like canopy pattern and folded into structural and symbolic forms. The pieces are arranged around a walkable water scrim feature. The work is the focal point and principle gathering place of the Boise City Hall Plaza.Downtown Boise, Idaho on April 19, 2020.
