Critter-Chris Alvarez’s Artfort live painting of Hunter S. Thompson” at LED in Boise, Idaho on September 27, 2021.
Chris painted this portrait using his hands and fingers.
Chris has been drawing most of his life and is a founding member of the art collective at Interfaith Sanctuary in Boise.
He draws portraits and is a self-taught tattoo artist. Fine art and the technical aspects of drawing are what drive his creative work. He has always been interested in graffiti, and growing up in San Diego, that’s what got him interested in being an artist. Graffiti was like looking at a maze with the colors and lines all over the place, and the block and bubble letters appear frequently in his work today.
He draws and paints in a variety of mediums and recently completed a series of t-shirts commissioned to honor Donnie, an Interfaith Sanctuary guest who passed away in June.
