Tony Caprai is a painter of ten years, and has been actively involved in Boise’s artistic community since his graduation from Boise State University in 2010. In 2012 Caprai began to further his technical understanding of painting via friends at A Mind’s Eye Tattoo and muralists of Sector Seventeen and Freak Alley Gallery. Starting in 2013, Tony performed at events including Treefort Music Festival, “Modern Art” at the Modern Hotel, and numerous First Thursday events as a live muralist. In 2014, an Artist in Residence program by Boise City Department of Arts and History in a large city loft space allowed Caprai to focus on his painting for nine months while curating/hosting multiple group and solo shows.

Caprai has been working hard in his studio creating a portfolio of abstract work since 2015, with many experimental pieces developing. The current style is a sort of abstract painting collage with many pieces taking a more sculptural relief form.
