Jason Morales, Founder of Ming Studios. Inaugural ArtBus tour provided an evening of exploration visiting artists-in-residence at MING Studios, Surel's Place, and The James Castle House on July 26, 2018.
The tour began at the Idaho Botanical Garden where MING's resident, Korean artist Han Seok Hyun gave a preview of the sculpture he is installing at the Idaho Botanical Garden entitled "Reverse-Rebirth." Then a visit to MING Studios for refreshments, small-bites, and a chance to explore the studio.
The next stop was at Surel's Place for another special preview. Artist-in-Residence Sandra Luckett, visiting from Arkansas, installation "Annihilation and Regeneration" was on view. This stop also included a visit to former Artist-in-Residence from Washington, Clarissa Callesen's "Fertile Remnants" Installation.
The final stop was The James Castle House's with inaugural resident Keiran Brennan Hinton, a Toronto-born artist based out of New York. A behind-the-scenes tour of the artist's studio and work-in-progress for his upcoming show “Standing Still,” plus a chance to visit with staff about the ongoing exhibits on site. Here the group was treated to more refreshments and James Castle's favorite dessert: ice cream!
The bus was generously sponsored by Boise City Parks & Recreation.
