Boise junior Emily Hamlin takes the lead during the first lap of the 2014 YMCA Track & Field Invitational Championship 1600 on April 25, 2014 at Bishop Kelly High School, Boise, Idaho. Hamlin ran in the lead position for the entire race winning in 4:54.56.

Hamlin entered the meet with the fastest times in Idaho this season in the 1600 (4:58.03 Meridian Distance Carnival 03/19/4), mile (4:54.55 Arcadia Invitational 4/12/14) and the 3200 (10:38.25a Arcadia Invitational 4/11/14). These times are better than the Idaho state records but in Idaho, state records can only be set at the state meet.
